The Word.


 I don't usually look forward to vacation...except if I’m going somewhere new, like our trip to Kentucky last year, or our trip out East. But I am excited about my vacation this year.

This year, I’m spending a week at a Creation Ministries Conference. I'm not sure what it'll look like exactly but I'm excited for it.

When we went to the Creation Museum in Kentucky last year, I felt an excitement for the Word of God I have never felt before. I think this is because it was in my face all day every day. We talked about it at breakfast, we saw the evidence and history of it and teachings of it throughout the day at the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter, and we discussed His Word at dinner and before bed. I woke up thinking of Him!  It was like Deuteronomy 6:9 acted out! I came away with a new confidence in God and ability to stand on His Word because of this.

On the other hand, I also came away with a new sadness. It is a sadness for fellow Christians who are not able to believe the truth of all Scripture.

There is an increasing trend now to warp Scripture to make it fit the secular worldview...whether it be (theistic) evolution, homosexual marriage, gender identity, premarital sex, abortion, marriage after divorce… The list goes on.

Here is a quote from Barna who does extensive research: “The vast majority of Christians do not behave any differently than non-Christians because they do not think any differently. They do not think differently because they are not trained, equipped, or held accountable to do so.”

I'm excited for our holiday this year because I hope it will give me more of what I got in Kentucky; more fire for the Word of God. More purpose "so I am ready to give an answer for the hope I have." (1 Peter 3:15), to Christians and non-Christians alike.

Why dance?  Dance is everywhere in Scripture. In Psalms 150 it tells us to "...Praise Him with harp and lyre. Praise Him with timbrel and dancing..." Fact or fantasy - how big was it?

Have you ever seen children's Bibles? The picture of Noah's ark usually looks something like this. There are a few common misinterpretations dealing with the account of the worldwide flood. T o start with, depending on the picture you look at it either has the animals sticking their heads out a window, sticking their heads out the roof or lounging on the deck.  I really doubt they would have done any of those things if it was very stormy which the Bible says it was. If the ark looked like that, how in the world did Noah get ALL the animals in? Well, here's some food for thought around the Noah's Ark issue based on Scripture and some things we learned at the Creation Conference and Ark Encounter in Kentucky.  In Genesis Chapter 5 verses 15 and 16 God gives Noah very detailed descriptions on what the ark is to look like. A solo adventure part 3

My solo at the beginning of Flesh and Spokes Show time!!!!  Our call to the theater on Saturday was for 3:00.We made this call in plenty of time and were able to relax a bit before I was needed. After my rehearsal and notes it was snack time followed by make up and costumes. At rehearsal the previous day, it hadn't taken me long to adapt to the stage, but the wings were a problem for me. Every theater has different wings but in all the eight years I've been dancing professionally I have never seen wings like these. They were shallow and wide. The booms for the lights were in each wing making it cramped and scary (each boom held 2 or 3 lights and each light got very, very hot. Not to mention the lights are very expensive.) The set up was such that turning around in the  wing and remaining hidden would be impossible. This meant that for each of my 3 exits, I would have to go off backwards.
